[en] All brands tend to have a person in the background that makes things possible, who dream things before they exist, who dress them up in colours with their particular typographies and vision. In Viefe®’s case this person is our designer Toni Font. All the image side of our brand comes from his hands, mind and heart. Today we’ll get to know a little more about him.
In which sectors of industry do you work mainly?
The work I’m doing at the moment is mainly for the food industry and interior design companies. However, I’m also doing some work for some smaller businesses in various different sectors of industry which provides me with a little more variety in my design tasks.
How did you initially start collaborating with Viefe®?
My initial contact with Viefe® was parallel to the beginnings of the brand name and so I was right at the hub from the off which allowed me to develop the brand and its corporate identity. I can fondly remember the excitement of everybody getting involved in a new and innovative project, as Viefe® is, and would also like to thank those responsible for placing their trust in me at such a vitally important time in their professional career.
What was the idea for the brand logo based on?
The single image of a logo should synthesize a series of values, which in Viefe®’s case should reflect certain qualities such as class and elegance in balance with modernity and design. We had to transmit the idea that Viefe® is a young, innovative brand yet at the same time serious and professional. With these ideas we developed a logo with personality that was easily recognisable and with a certain amount of “body”.
How do you conceptualize the graphics and chromatics for each of the different methods of communication for the brand?
We always try to ensure that each element has a minimalist design so that the focus will be on the products, which intrinsically have a strong design, but always with a view to adding a more original touch in some way whether using striking colours, casual typography or more daring graphics. I suppose we are always trying transmit those values we mentioned previously of elegance and innovation
What are your references?
I couldn’t really give you a definite answer. I like different kinds of styles and I can get excited by something really underground or radical just as much as I can with something more vintage or bauhaus.
A colour.
Black
A typography.
Helvetica.
A means of communication.
Social networks
A style of interior design that you really like.
Minimalist with a touch of vintage
Which is your favourite room in the house?
The studio.
Which of the jobs that you’ve done for Viefe® has given you the greatest satisfaction? Why?
Probably the products catalogue because effort that is involved in working on a developed and attractive set of graphics which is, at the same time, functional. For the task of having to add the finishing touches to the details of the new versions to make sure that we reach the heights of perfection. Also for having to intervene in the task of photography of the products. To summarise, it’s a complex and multidisciplinary task which produces a great amount of satisfaction when it is finally completed and when you can actually hold the final product in your hands “straight out of the oven” as they say.
If you had to choose the Viefe® product that you like the most, which would it be? Why?
That’s quite a difficult question to answer as “what music you listen to suits the mood you’re currently in” and the range of products available from Viefe® is so wide that I’d find it difficult to choose just one. Depending on the space I’d probably go for some of colourful acrylic ones, but in other spaces I’d definitely put one of the plainer, more elegant ones. If I had to name one particular model then it would have to be the Tamm model which I really like because of its stylish linear and angular profile. I also think the new Comm handle is really original and has great potential because of its ability to communicate by incorporating graphics.
